The Bosch Rexroth 4WE 10 D3X/CW230N9K4 (R900592701) is a high-performance solenoid-actuated directional spool valve designed to manage the start, stop, and direction of fluid flow within a hydraulic system. This particular model features a robust housing that accommodates one or two electronic solenoids, a control spool, and return springs. The wet-pin electronic solenoids are responsible for moving the control spool from its rest position to the active end position, thereby dictating the flow direction from ports P to A and B to T or P to B and A to T as required. Upon de-energization, the return springs ensure that the control spool reverts back to its original position. The valve also includes a manual override feature that allows for manual actuation in situations where solenoid power is not available.

A notable characteristic of this model is its compatibility with throttle inserts in channels P, A, B, or T which can be used to increase flow resistance and accommodate varying operational conditions. The 4WE 10 D3X/CW230N9K4 valve comes without spring return in certain configurations (indicated by symbols A, C, and D), meaning it does not default to a set position when de-energized. For versions with detent (OF), the control spool can be locked into place, allowing for energy-efficient operation by eliminating the need for continuous current application. This valve is designed with high-power solenoids and conforms to ISO porting patterns. Its AC solenoids are wet-pin type with detachable coils that can be rotated by 90 degrees and replaced without opening the pressure-tight chamber. Electrical connections can be made individually or centrally. An optional auxiliary operating device may also be included for enhanced functionality. Users are advised that pressure peaks in tank lines may inadvertently shift the control spool if valves have detents; separate return lines or check valves are recommended in such scenarios.
