The directional control valve, also known as the directional valve, is mainly used to connect or disconnect the oil circuit or switch the direction of the oil flow to meet the requirements for the start, stop and movement direction of the actuator. According to their uses, they can be divided into two major categories: check valves and directional control valves.Check valve.A check valve, also known as a one-way valve, is designed to allow oil to flow in only one direction. According to the different structures of the valve core, check valves can be divided into two types: ball valve type and cone valve type. Figure 5-1 shows the structures of two types of check valves and the symbols of the check valves. The valve core of the ball valve has a simple structure, but it is prone to poor sealing due to friction and is only used in low-pressure situations. The cone valve type is widely used and has better sealing performance. According to the situation of the channel in the valve, it can be further divided into straight-through type and right-angle type. The straight-through type has low liquid flow resistance and it is also convenient to replace the spring. Generally, tubular connection is adopted. For the right-angle type, pipe connection can be adopted. It can also adopt plate connection or flange connection.

The main function of the spring in a check valve is to help the valve close quickly when there is no oil flow passing through or when the oil flows back. However, it also increases the resistance when the valve is opened at the same time and becomes the main part of the pressure loss when the oil flows through the check valve. The spring should be made softer without affecting the sensitivity and reliability of the valve. The opening pressure of a general check valve is 0.035 to 0.05 MPa, and the pressure loss when all the flow passes through is approximately 0.1 to 0.3 MPa. (2) Directional control valve.The function of a directional control valve is to use the relative motion between the valve core and the valve body to connect, close the oil circuit or change the flow direction of the oil to the actuator, so as to start, stop or change the movement direction of the actuator.
